How do you FTP to a Website?

FTP stands for file transfer protocol. It allows you to talk to a web server. The web server is the device that actually serves or delivers your webpage to the public or Internet user. If you want to download or upload website changes, images, etc you will need to use ftp to communicate with the web server. It allows to you to move files in between your desktop and server. You will need to download an FTP program. I personally like cuteftp or ftp voyager. When you start these programs you are typically looking at two file managers where you see the files on your desktop on your left and the files on your web server to the right. You can now simply drag and drop files to whichever location you choose.
